Wildlife Population Trends

Kenya counts her wildlife using different scientifically proven methods depending on taxa and the habitat type. Such methods include; aerial total/sample censuses, ground counts, playback systems amongst others. The data obtained have been used to monitor population dynamics of species of conservation concern including elephants, black rhinos, Grevy’s zebra, and hirolas for evidence-based decision support for sustainable conservation.
